“Arts organization will define the way that communities bounce back from this economic downturn,” Lawton said.
“We must find ways to make them stronger and better able to support themselves by imagining unprecedented partnerships.”

The event provided a forum for Door County women to share their personal struggles with the health care system. Although women make the majority of their family’s medical decisions, they often suffer the severest gaps in care. She noted that a recent World Health Organization study ranked the United States 37th out of 130 countries for women’s health and survival.
Lt. Governor Lawton described how the current health care system is failing America’s families and asked the women in attendance to rally around comprehensive health insurance reform that includes universal access to affordable care and cost
cutting measures for Wisconsin families and small businesses. She urged audience members to take action by contacting their member of Congress to demand an overhaul of the health care system.
