Four More Years
Thanks to the trust and confidence of the great people of Wisconsin, Scott Walker and I were sworn in to serve a second term as your Governor and Lt. Governor. We are proud of our record so far and look forward to continuing our work serving the families of the Badger State for another four years.
Inauguration Day itself was terrific. I was blessed to have my family by my side throughout the day, and after my swearing in, the group of us went to the Assembly Chamber where the children and I watched my husband, Joel, get sworn in as our State Representative. At my inauguration, though, Ella and Violet won the spotlight when they introduced me and offered an invocation, which they wrote themselves. I am so proud of them!
Wisconsin's future is strong and promising. I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve such a wonderful state and look forward to building on our past successes. Let's get back to work!
Budget Discussions Continue
A lot of work, thought, and meaningful discussion goes into crafting our state budget. Dialogue has been underway here in the Capitol for some time. But the end is finally in sight as we enter the final few weeks!
We are committed to reducing the size and scope of government, encouraging efficiency, and ensuring the best value for you, our hardworking taxpayers. I think you will appreciate the initiatives we include in the budget, especially because of your understanding of how much time and deliberation we give to each one.
Cabinet staying on
Governor Walker announced this week that all of his Cabinet secretaries will be continuing in their current positions. I have been honored to serve with all of these fine individuals. I've spent many hours with each of them traveling the state and working on the issues specific to their agencies. I look forward to partnering with everyone on the Governor's leadership team to keep moving Wisconsin forward.
Next week, expect details on the Governor's State of the State addess, which will be delivered Tuesday!
