Internship Opportunities
The Office of Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton is accepting applications for internships.
The internship program allows interns and volunteers to participate in a wide assortment of public policy opportunities and to assist staff in a number of office responsibilities. The Lieutenant Governor also encourages interns and volunteers to pursue areas of interest and to develop challenging and fulfilling projects.

- Be sure to indicate your year in school, anticipated year of graduation, and academic record (major and GPA).
Responsibilities may include:
- Researching issue areas and providing memos on policy updates and recent news events
- Providing research assistance for speechwriting
- Assisting with constituent correspondence and casework
- Organizing and updating constituent database and file systems
- Assisting in general office duties
- Providing information and technology support
Requirements:
- Experience with college-level research and writing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional office etiquette
- Ability to multitask and work independently and cooperatively
- Proficiency in computer skills and computer research (especially with Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, and web browsers)
- Reliable and prompt
- Attention to detail and the ability to complete projects in an efficient manner
Available Positions:
- Policy Internship – with a focus on policy, legislative tracking, constituent correspondence, and other initiatives.
- Media and Communications Internship – with a focus on media relations, research and writing of media advisories and press releases.
Note: On occasion both types of internships will assist in the other field.
