Art in the Office

Beginning on the day of her inauguration, Lieutenant Governor Lawton transformed the wall space of the beautifully renovated Office of the Lieutenant Governor into a special gallery exhibition space for Wisconsin artists. She welcomes all capitol visitors to stop by and get a sense of the extraordinary artwork being produced by talented artists in every part of our state.

Lieutenant Governor Lawton opens each new show inviting the public to a reception for the artist(s). Exhibits may showcase the work of an individual artist or gather works from multiple artists, organized around a single theme or idea or particular region of the state.

Lieutenant Governor Lawton’s prominent gallery is emblematic of her work as Chair of the Wisconsin State Arts Board. The Board today provides unique leadership to engage both public and private sectors in a shared agenda to establish Wisconsin’s stronghold in the creative economy, building the arts and culture industry as a powerful sector in itself and as the animating force for growth in communities across the state.

Earth in the Office - Pam Stoll (Green Bay)
Pam Stoll, Master Photographer, considers herself a photographic artist and printmaker. She has a Master’s Degree in Photography and Art and finds it exciting to blend both disciplines of photography and art in her work. Reviewing her work, you will find clusters of images that reflect parts of her life and the people that have an impact on her life. Some of her work emulates famous artists such as Vermeer, Rockwell, Degas and Monet. You will find a photographic technique that resembles the traditional pen and ink technique of pointillism. She has produced many series which depict a variety of subjects such as ballerinas, traditional black and white series of the elderly, historical still lifes, and a window and door series into the past with/without Polaroid manipulation. In addition, she has combined both photographic and art techniques to produce a series of abstract artwork. This series reflects nature and landscape images she has captured throughout her years of photography and her travels. She is currently the owner of Imagemaker Photography, a custom environmental portrait photographic studio. As a photographic artist, she meets each client in their environment and personalizes each session to fit the needs of the client. She has received a multitude of local, state, and national awards for her work.. Her pieces have been hung at Epcot Center (Disney World) and various galleries in the State, and some are a part of a permanent traveling loan collection with the Professional Photographers Association of America. As a successful business owner, she has connected with the community and with this experience she brings ideas into the classroom, where she teaches art to children in grades K-8. “As pigment is the palette for the artist, I can help the viewer understand that light is the palette for the photographic artist.” says Stoll.
